About Course

Music for Children – A Progressive Journey in Indian & Western Music

Music for Children Level 3 exposes the students to the possibilities of a percussion instrument. They learn basic beat patterns to go along with songs that they have learned. Over the last 3 courses, the students have now been exposed to and equipped with the basic knowledge of how to play 3 instruments – keyboard, drums, and guitar.

They learn a Punjabi song and also about the Punjabi culture through this son. Dance Monkey, an upbeat song is taught that helps them correlate movement to music. Hakuna Matata, the classic song that teaches them to always be happy is taught in a very fun way. A new note from the Chromatic scale consisting of the twelve notes in an octave ( Teevr Ma or Raised Fourth or Fi ) is introduced and taught progressively. By the end of courses, all the note positions and intervals would be set firmly in the student’s mind. Using body percussion in a song is experienced. Raga Yaman is introduced here.
