Grade 7 Music Course (Term 2) – Developing Vocal Ease & Empowerment through Music

At Grade 7 Music Course (Term 2), students work on developing their voices to sing easily. This is a crucial age when their voice develops, so a lot of focus is laid on easy, comfortable singing. There are quizzes to check the thoughts of students about their self-worth, following which the song Who Says – a self-empowering song is taught to them. The concept of texture is taught here, and 3 new instrument sounds (percussion) from over the world are introduced here.

Sight singing learning in Ab Major continues at this level when students learn how to read even small pieces in Ab Major. The Prayer, a classic song by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli, which encourages them to bring on peace in the world, is taught. The song teaches the round, western classical way of singing as well. The song Paradise by Coldplay is also taught.
