About Course

Grade 6 Music Course (Term 1) – Explore Genres, Scales & Global Sounds

At the Grade 6 Music Course (Term 1), students explore three exciting genres—Jazz, Pop, and Rock—in both English and Hindi. They are introduced to the Chinese language through a fun sight-singing exercise. Students learn to identify musical differences across Jazz, Pop, and Rock songs. The natural minor scale, along with harmonic and melodic minor scales, is thoroughly practiced through Alankar and solfege patterns.

Students begin sight-reading songs and dive into the musical element of texture. They perform monophonic, homophonic, and polyphonic pieces, learning to distinguish each style through experience and discussion. Key signatures of C, F, G, Bb, D, and Eb major are revised. Songs like Singing in the Rain connect students to the spirit of the monsoon season, We Are the World teaches global unity, and Meri Laundry introduces Grunge vocal techniques. The Grade 6 Music Course nurtures musical skills, emotional expression, and technical growth.
