Grade 7 Music Course (Term 1)

About Course
Grade 7 Music Course (Term 1) – Exploring RnB, Pop Songs, and Vocal Techniques
At Grade 7 Music Course (Term 1), students are exposed to an RnB song for the first time. 2 pop songs are taught – one that helps them love themselves and one that encourages them to give more to others. The concept of form is taught here, whereby students understand the structure of a song or a piece of music by analyzing songs.
Warmups are designed to help the student enter their mixed/head voice easily from chest voice and back. They are taught the concept of resonances as well, so they are aware of the vocal tones they produce. The themes of the songs resonate with them at their age. The key of Ab Major is introduced, and sight singing is done in this scale. Alankar patterns are now in the major scale as slightly complex patterns are attempted sequentially.
