About Course

Hindustani Vocal Beginner – Level 6 | Deepen Your Practice with Raag Bhairav & Hamsadhwani

In Hindustani Vocals Beginner Level 6, students engage with the distinct melodic worlds of Raag Bhairav and Raag Hamsadhwani. Through careful listening and guided practice, they begin to identify and understand the structural elements and emotional character of each raag. This foundational step helps students internalize the mood and movement of the melodies.

Students then learn to create small aalaps, developing their ability to explore and express the essence of each raag through slow, meditative improvisation. The course includes two traditional compositions (bandish) in each raag, which are practiced in the appropriate taal, ensuring students build a balanced understanding of both melody and rhythm. To enhance vocal agility and fluency, learners are also taught ten short taans in each raag. These focused taan exercises help strengthen voice control, speed, and accuracy, allowing students to bring more dynamism and confidence to their performances.
