Beginning with the historical and theoretical context of Jod Ragas, the course guides students through the structure, aesthetics, and emotive qualities of Jod Ragas, followed by a deep dive into Ahir Bhairav, a classic example of raga fusion. Through listening sessions, comparative analysis, bandish learning, alap and taan development, and creative alankara composition, students will gain both analytical insight and vocal fluency.
The module culminates in student-led presentations that reflect their understanding of the individuality and synthesis of the two ragas, offering a rich, immersive experience in the nuanced world of Hindustani raga innovation.
