Hindustani Vocals Degree Course (Level 3)

About Course
Hindustani Music Level 3 | Exploring Raga Emotion, Theory & Timeless Expression
Level 3 introduces students to the emotional depth and theoretical richness of Hindustani music, with a strong emphasis on raga expression, vocal agility, and understanding of time theory (Samay Sidhanth). Students explore the concept of praharas through visual tools and stories, learning how ragas relate to different times of the day.
Raga Malkauns is introduced in depth, with its aaroh-avroh, swargeet, and bandish in teentaal, along with alaap construction techniques such as mukh-mora. Foundational vocal exercises are expanded to include breath control, vowel-based singing, and the use of meend for smoother transitions. The concept of Kan swaras is also introduced to develop subtlety and ornamentation in performance. The level concludes with the introduction of Raga Jaunpuri, where students practice swargeet in dugun with taal, further strengthening their rhythmic understanding and melodic fluency.
