Music for Children (Level 5) – 12 Weeks

About Course
Music for Children – A Progressive Journey in Indian & Western Music
At Music for Children Level 5, students are exposed to the element of Timbre in Music. They start listening to the instrumental timbres in songs. They identify the instruments in bits of at least 3 songs. They learn two new notes in the Chromatic scale of Music – the lowered 2 and the lowered 6. They start learning the Swara patterns in the 7-note scale with these notes, thus ensuring the students fix their positions in their minds.
They learn more about rests in music through interesting rest-based movement activities. They learn the song Halo which helps them consider and realize their angels in life and give gratitude to them. They learn the song Saare Ke Saare, a classic Hindi film song that reinforces the names of seven notes through wordplay in Hindi. They also learn Christmas Carols that they can perform in the joyful spirit of Christmas. Vocally, they work on developing a strong, bold projected crisp tone.
