About Course

Music for Children – A Progressive Journey in Indian & Western Music

Music for Children Level 9 is a cultural melting pot, in this course, students are exposed to 3 cultures – the South American culture, the Navaratri Festival of North India, and Bengali Poetry highlighting the Deepavali festival of India. Their understanding of the cultures of these places through the songs will make them more socially aware. They are taught what chords are in this course and how chords create the mood of a song and also help the tune progress and return.

They are taught dotted rhythms in detail. They are taught how songs have played an important part in some social revolutions across the world. They are taught the natural minor scale in this course. They learn in detail how to sight-sing in Eb Major scale. They learn how to riff, and what the difference between a riff and a run is. Vocally, they focus on improving their breath-holding capacity which will give them a stronger and deeper voice.
