Grade 10 Music Course – Explore Indian Composers & Express Emotions

At Grade 10 Music Course (Term 2), students learn in depth about 5 famous Indian composers who specialized in their craft in their genre. Through this study of composers, students are also exposed to 5 different genres of music in India (Carnatic, Hindustani, Folk, Film, Rabindra Sangeet) and 5 different timelines. They learn 3 songs – Drivers Licence, Sixteen Going on Seventeen, and We Are Young – all of which connect directly to them about different emotions and aspects of their life.  They now practice sight singing in different key signatures with simple rhythms. Long alankar patterns are learnt.
