Grade 6 Music Course (Term 3) – Mastering Timbre and Expanding Vocal Range

At Grade 6 Music Course (Term 3), the musical element of Instrument timbre is learned in more detail as 3 new Indian instrument sounds are heard and learned by students. They learn to perfect the 12-note chromatic scale and sing a variety of patterns in different note combinations through exercises.

The new Indian Language introduced in this course is Telugu, where the students learned the Oscar Award-winning Indian song Naattu Naattu. A Million Dreams from The Greatest Showman and the Class. Rasputin by Boney M is the other song learned here, both songs which will add great value to the student’s musical journey. Sight singing in A major is done in detail and the students also sight sing a song Aura Lee in A Major. Vocally, the students proceed to exercises that access their powerful head voice.
