Description
Music for Kids: A Joyful Introduction to Melody
Music for Kids Level 6 can be taken by a student in the age bracket 4-6 years who has been exposed to concepts covered in levels Music for Kids 1-5. In this course, students learn further about note grouping and patterns. They get skilled in sight singing small measures of Western music notation. They are now exposed to concepts of skips (missing a note) while creating a pattern with swaras or musical notes (so far, they were exposed only to linear patterns). This improves their pitching and their entry into the world of understanding musical intervals.
Through a Rajasthani folk song, kids are exposed to the culture of Rajasthan, an Indian State known for its rich culture, heritage, and natural beauty. There is a good blend of folk songs from East and West in this course and also a child-friendly film song from yesteryears in Hindi. Children are taught the National Bird of India through warmups. There is a focus on Diction through the Hindi Language. Through the activity song Johnny works – children are helped to build their motor coordination skills.
