Music for Kids: A Joyful Introduction to Melody
At Music for Kids Level 11, students are introduced to the exciting land of Disney Songs. They connect well with Simba’s “I just can’t wait to be King” from The Lion King. They learn how bigger Alankar can be created easily by simply grouping Alankar patterns of 2s, 3s, and 4s. They create the alankars themselves. Sight singing in F major continues. There are activities to identify intervals aurally through games.
String beat in a group of 3 or 4 beats gets identified through the use of classroom instruments. Instruments used in a recorded song are listened to and identified. Singing loudly with an open voice is encouraged. The Kannada song Bhagyada Lakshmi Baramma opens doors to understanding the culture of some parts of Karnataka. A fun Christmas Carol is taught in its entirety.
