Music for Kids: A Joyful Introduction to Melody
Music for Kids Level 1 course introduces the wonderful world of music to kids. Through the colours of the rainbow, they are introduced to the seven notes Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha and Ni, which become their friends for life. The students are exposed to the concept of beat, a repeated pulse that they feel and become constantly in everyday activities, including walking, stomping, clapping, etc.
They start rhythm reading through simple words that they already know. They learn three simple songs in 3 languages thoroughly and by heart. They learn alankars or note patterns 1 to 7. They listen to and identify 5 different instrument sounds. They observe the black and white keys on a keyboard. They learn the rhythm notes for the whole half quarter and eighth in Western Music Notation. Thus, they are exposed to a lot of fun concepts in music that ensures their interest in it is set for life.
